It’s that time of year again, when all that nostalgia comes rushing in. It’s been a tradition in my family to blast the Elvis Christmas Album every Christmas – oh how I love Elvis <3
I love this holiday season. I decided to get into the Christmas music a little early this year, and it reminded me of a demo project I started a few years ago around this time when I was going through a breakup. Anyone who has ever had to go through any kind of emotional heart ache during the holidays, knows how awful it is. So I decided to make my own holiday mood song. I laid down a few key elements but ended up putting that demo on the shelf, and wasn’t reminded of it until last week when I heard about a friend going through a tough time, and well, it’s December. After a bit more tweaking and noodling around I am finally content with the end result and ready to share it. This song means so much to me on many different levels. There are both beautiful and painful emotions intertwined in this track, and it inspired this indie dream-pop version.
